A 40-hour hackathon for ambitious young builders under 25, that will take place in Belgrade, Serbia.
Garaža is organizing a 40-hour Frontier Hackathon designed to enable teams to build the next generation of AI companies from the Balkans.
We are targeting the most ambitious young builders under 25, who want to build something big and solve high-impact problems rather than pursuing small and local problems.
The top 3 teams will receive cash prizes in the form of grants to help them kickstart their projects.
Additional bounty rewards from our Tech Partners are given to the best team that solves the challenges set by the partners.
These partners are providing credits and API access to teams during the hackathon.
Essentially, you can build any type of project you want. However, we want to see solutions and products that can become real businesses and startups that are targeting global markets and solving high-impact problems.
You keep all of the rights to the intellectual property of the project.
We accept teams from the Balkan/SEE, which by our definition are: Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Romania, Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece.
In that case, the team is not eligible for the hackathon. We require that all team members are under the age of 25 years. We will have leniency for edge cases where team members are turning or have just turned 25 years old.
Unfortunately, no. The hackathon is intended mainly for teams. Our main goal is to inspire young teams to build something big and solve high-impact problems that can become a startup.
No, the hackathon is in-person only. We require that all team members are able to travel to Belgrade, Serbia.
All teams will be notified by email by December 3rd, 2025 if they are accepted.
You will need to bring your own laptop and any other equipment you need for the hackathon. We will provide you with access to APIs and resources from our partners as well as food and drinks for the duration of the hackathon.
The main prizes will be distributed to teams via non-equity grants to legal entities. The main objective is to help teams kickstart their projects. Projects do not neccesarily need to be the ones that were developed during the hackathon. If a team does not have a legal entity, we can provide the rewards in the form of in-app credits for building your projects.
